What Is The History Of Seminole Golf Club?
Harry Kelsey formerly owned Seminole Golf Club land. A business tycoon Edward Francis Hutton began using the land (140 acres) in 1929. The picked course had many dune ridges and was diligently cleared and flattened.
The Club’s course is outstanding for its smart parting on the rectangular field, which yields a different new wind on each hole.
Since the Club’s existence, its offer to business members has been outstanding. New members, including Jack Chrysler, Paul Mellon, Joseph P. Kennedy, John Pillsbury, and Phillip Armour, were inducted into the Club in 1947.
The Club hosted a great caliber of Kings & Presidents: John. F. Kennedy & Gerald Ford played often.
The news in 2020 that Tom Brady joined the Club after moving from his previous clubs. The father of golf professional Gerry Mcllroy is a member of the Seminole Golf Club.
The lack of constant maintenance of the Club after World War II led to the renovation of the course contracted to Dick Wilson. He used original materials for the renovation. The three-year renovation was done by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 2016.
Over the years, little renovations have been made. Seminole Golf Club and Pinehurst are said to be the two masterpieces of Donald Ross. The Club hosted a Charity Skins game by Golf Channel in 2020, which brought Seminole Club to the limelight.

The course has a rectangular space which gives a clear challenge/difficulty. This course was designed so that players discover a new wind direction.

The compulsory dress code is collared shirts, slacks, and above-the-knee shorts. The shoe is a no-spiked golf shoe to be worn on the course.
The unacceptable wears are; denim, T-shirts or inappropriate shorts, tank tops, and muscle shirts.
Every member and guest must adhere to the required dress code.
