Club History
The plan to build the Club began in 1978 when Mick Humphreys arrived in Florida to meet the great and renowned golf designer Tom Fazio. He started work on the Mountain golf course with his uncle, George Fazio, a former tour golfer who later became an architect.
The design of the course cost a fortune. Vintage Club was officially opened in 1980. Four years later, the 18-hole Desert Course was completed.
In 1981, the inaugural vintage invitational, a forerunner to the Professional Golfers’ Association, made a launch that captivated Arnold Palmer, Bobby Locke, and numerous legendary golfers.
The Vintage Clubhouse was renovated in 2016, worth a multi-million dollar; its features included social space, dining, lake, mountain, and golf course views.
A member, Anthony Esernia, said, “the vintage club…the kind of place golfers dream about.”
